Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded by water on 3 sides, the city's spread over steep hills that make for great photo ops. And none better than the zig-zag Lombard Street, seen in many a film. Even more famous are San Fran's iconic trolleys climbing the hills – a little touristy, but still worth a ride.
In the middle of the bay, Alcatraz island is known for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t go inside, the views of the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere is life in San Francisco more laid-back than on the Pacific beaches. Rent a bike and head out there, passing through the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. Don't miss the clam chowder served in bread bowls! Chinatown also has a great selection of mid-range restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want a more independent stay in apartments, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something for everyone. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here!

We went to San Francisco to take an excursion to Napa Valley and go on a wine tasting tour. In addition, we took a tour of the city and Muir Redwood trees. Chinatown is a great place to eat and shop along with the wharf. You must ride the trolly, but buy the day pass.

We liked our 4 days stay in San Fran.
We liked our 4 days stay in San Fran. It was just right amount of time. We saw everything we wanted to see (except for the Redwoods) but that will be another visit) We ate at Mason Cafe for Breakfast and lunch; they were excellent both times and a good price. We ate at Pinecrest Diner for breakfast, it was ok, but eggs were under cooked. We ate at Tad's Steakhouse which was ok, but the steak was not a worth the $30 p.p. burger was good for $20. There are A LOT of homeless people in SFO but we found they keep to themselves pretty much but it's sad to see so many in need. The WAYMO Autonomous vehicles were awesome. We road in one and had a great experience! Overall SFO is a classic USA destination, you have to experience it. It was a very nice vacation getaway.

One of my favourite cities in the world.
One of my favourite cities in the world. Too bad the mayor can’t get the drug problem solved and the rubbish all over the streets. Such a shame and an embarrassment for my country. Other than the drug zombies wandering all over the city … it’s a beautiful city, great food, nice people.

Live theatre around Union Square, Alcatraz, Cable Car, Wharf area, Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park, Museum of Fine Arts, Lombard St and community events in Union Square were the main things we liked during our all too short stay. Loved much of the architectural housing in many different areas. Hop on/off bus a great way for good overview, though hold on to your hat going over the GG Bridge.

We selected Nob Hill as our neighborhood for our stay in San Francisco, and this hotel proved to be an outstanding choice. Located just a few minutes' walk from both Chinatown and Union Square, it is also conveniently situated near the Ferry Building and other city attractions.
The hotel's highlight is undoubtedly its breakfast, which is both diverse and generous, served in their inviting pub area. The surrounding neighborhood is notably quiet and safe, providing a serene atmosphere to unwind after a day of exploration.
sleeping in Union Square allows you to visit many tourist sites on foot. San Francisco is a relatively quiet and peaceful city, and although very much downtown the hotel offers rooms away from traffic's noise.
The history behind this premise is honorable and you feel kind of safe.
Perfect location, big rooms and for San Francisco quite rooms but depends on which side of the hotel. I have stayed in the hotel several times and in many others around the Union Square. Donatello is great for the money.
Everything!
Small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee machine, utensils and basic kitchenware), good tv, great sized room, new and clean!! Magnificent hotel. Really well situated in San Francisco! (Union Square)
